Home Gym Essentials

Most people don’t know this about me…but… I complete 80% of my workouts from my home gym. I only keep my gym membership for when my BF and I go together or when the weather isn’t conducive for an outdoor workout.

I started to build my home gym in January 2015. One day I was at the gym and was frustrated with not being able to exercise without someone asking me for the equipment I was using. Normally, it wouldn’t have bothered me but I was really working hard that day to blow off some steam. It totally knocked my vibe and I figured I could exercise at home in peace. So, that’s what I did.

Thankfully, I had a set of 5, 8 and 10lb dumbbells that were given to me as a gift years ago {& sadly, they were collecting dust}. I also had knock-off TRX bands {which are really great & can be found here},a stability ball and a pilates thingy {I rarely use & can be found here}. with those items in mind, I went to TJ Maxx  & Target to see what goodies I could add to my new home gym. By the end of the day, I added a 15 lb kettlebell, a yoga mat, resistance bands (this kind & this kind) and a jump rope.

Little by little I started to build my home gym. Throughout the last year or so I shop for reasonably priced items to add to my home gym. I also asked for new equipment for my birthday and for Christmas. Now, I have a great home gym that I love!

Here is a list of all the items I’ve collected over the last year:
