My Morning Coffee Recipe

I woke up extra early before my work day this morning to send out a meal plan for one of my Trim with Jenn clients. I find it extra fitting to share my morning coffee recipe. I rely on this morning drink to help me get through my busy days. Oh, fun fact, I have a full-time job outside of blogging, balancing nutrition clients and a personal life :).

Anyone else here a big coffee person? Yeah, me too. I found that when I started to clean up my diet that the coffee creamer was flooded with sugar and other ingredients that are harmful to my digestive system. Then, I noticed the {insert Jaws music here} the tiny serving size of coffee creamer! The serving size for most coffee creamers is 1 tablespoon. …That’s not a lot….

So, I needed to figure something out that wouldn’t compromise my caffeine but would help me cut some unneeded sugars. This is the result of my new and totally guilt free coffee routine!

  • 1 shot of espresso
  • 1 tablespoon of creamer
  • 4-6 oz of almond milk
  • 1 scoop of protein

The trick to this recipe is the high caffeine content (espresso) and the addition of protein powder. The almond milk takes the bite out of the espresso and the creamer gives it a little extra flavor. I like Thin Mints creamer mixed with my chocolate protein powder. It’s like a mocha! It’s truly magical and you should try it!

Top of the morning to you,

PS: You can get trim with Jenn 🙂

Interesting…..I never thought to try mixing in some protein powder. I usually mix in a tablespoon of Virgin unrefined coconut oil. It does leave a greasy residue, but it’s healthy fat and helps keep me satiated. And it gives it a strong coconut flavor.
