How Many Sprints Should I Do?

I LOVE to add sprints to my routine. It’s a great way to trick my body and burn a ton of calories. I have been sore in my abs lately from doing sprints, which is a new thing for me. It probably has to do with the fact that I am focusing on tightening my core and bringing my elbow up and my other hand back.

I break down my sprint routine in my recent YouTube video {click here to see it}. Basically, I run .15 as a warm up, complete .7 worth of 6-second sprints and finish with a .15 as a cool down. Sometimes I will just do sprints and sometimes I will lift after. In the video linked above, you’ll also get a preview of my home gym and a chest and triceps workout I didย after my sprints. The sprinting routine usually takes me 11-12 minutes.

Let me know if you try this routine! I am still sore from my chest and triceps day ๐Ÿ™‚

With love,
Jenn

  1. My sprint ‘strategy’ is simple: Jog for 20 minutes first, then perform 5 sets of 30 second sprints followed by 10 second brisk walks. If I am able I may add an extra set or two but this really depends on how bad I am sweating or how hard I am breathing – as an older girl ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚
