There have been so many times I thought that I’d never be able to do a pull-up.
How silly does that sound?
Becoming mad at oneself for not being able to pull their body up.

…but it happened.
I was my worst critic {guilty}

I made it a point to build my upper body strength and keep trying until I was able to do a pull-up. {This period of time was also a challenge to stop the negative self-talk and work on positive self-talk!}. During my road to completing a pull-up {which lasted about 2 years} I hurt my back. The injury totally set me back but I never gave up. Then one day {which was Sunday} I decided to give it a go between sets.

One pull-up completed. It was slow but I did it.
In complete shock…I did another and another one.
I propped up my iPhone and got evidence of me doing a pull-up.
{insert a lot of smiling (: }

It was such a good feeling. It hit me like a ton of bricks… you can do ANYTHING you set your mind to. Sure, doing a pull-up is a different kind of accomplishment compared to getting your PhD… but it’s still a victory.  All victories deserve acknowledgment!

Go get whatever you want in life.
Work hard, keep a good attitude and keep trying… that is the recipe for success!

Without further ado, here is my evidence of the pull-up. Before you’ll see that, you’ll see me totally hyped {without wearing any make-up and looking like a TOTAL mess… really not my best haha} telling you to never, ever give up!

Never give up,
